Top Picks for American Idol

The top twenty four contestants for the 2011 season of American Idol have been revealed, and as a fan, I have not missed a show yet.

Following this year's singers on their journey has been a roller coaster of highs and lows, much like other seasons.

Still in the end, favorites absolutely emerged. Through this season of American Idol, I've tried to keep an eye out for singers to grow and singers who were consistent.

I'm a fan of all genres of music, and I will literally listen to anything. A very eclectic taste, I am choosing my favorites based on their talent.

Here are my top twelve picks for the 2011 season of American Idol.

I considered dividing them in boys and girls, but decided in the end, gender didn't really matter anyway.

My choices might change with time, but as of now, it is what it is.

1. Paul McDonald

Such a distinct voice. Reminds me of somebody who can truly take this competition to a new level.

2. Kendra Chantelle

3. Karen Rodriguez

4. Pia Toscano

Karen and Pia knew each other since going to a performing arts high school together.

They showcased the both had talent when they sang the Beattles song, Can't Buy Me Love during Hollywood week.

Two of my favorite girls.  Hands down.

5. Tim Halperin

Amazing voice, and, yes, adorable looking as well.

6. Julie Zorrilla

Julie's story had touched me from the beginning, but her vocals are what made her reach my top twelve picks for this season of Idol.

These two sang a great duet together, showing they're even more than singers by playing the keyboards.

7. Scotty McCreery

Deep country voice, and a sweet personality.

Came a long way, and I hope he goes even further!

I'll admit that I have a soft spot for country, but when Scotty sang Josh Turner's Your Man, he melted me heart.

I also loved when Steven Tyler made him sing another song, and he just proved himself even more!

8. Lauren Alaina

Another story that had touched me. I think she's a sweet and beautiful young girl with jaw-dropping talent.

Anyone who can carry an Aerosmith song like this gets my vote.

9. Casey Abrams

One of the most talented musicians to perform for American Idol in its ten seasons.

10. Stefano Langone

Two slots are left. One boy and one girl remain.

11. Jovany Barreto

Especially enjoyed during his first audition when he showed off his abs beside Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.

Cute.

12. Lauren Turner

First stood out for me when she performed above and beyond better than her fellow group members during Hollwood week.
