Let's Talk About St. Patrick!
This holiday celebrated on March 17th was named after St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. Although it is a public holiday, St. Patrick's Day is also recognized as the feast day for St. Patrick.
St. Patrick is known for having used the shamrock to teach the Catholic faith. The three leaves represent the three parts of the Holy trinity - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Before You Start to Decorate...
Maybe as you are pulling out those decorations or if your kids look at them with questions, you may want to share some books about St. Patrick with them.
Little ones love stories, and these books may do just the trick.
Don't forget to leave these books out, as books on a shelf can make another lovely decoration!
Outdoor St. Patrick's Day Decorations
Why not share your Irish spirit with the neighborhood!
There are some wonderful decorations available to place outdoors for all to see.
Flags are especially nice for the garden or patio, and a light in that front window could add just the right touch!
Tabletop Decorations
Great for your coffee table or fireplace mantle... These little knick knacks are more for your own enjoyment.
Whether you use the shamrocks, leprechauns or pots of gold, you need to add a touch of St. Patrick's Day fun to the inside of your home, too!
Hopefully these decorations will give you some great suggestions. Best of luck decorating, and Happy St. Patrick's Day!
