My Journey to 100 Hubs on HubPages
66How Did This All Begin?
I signed up with HubPages on September 24th, 2010, very late one night, and to be quite honest, I really had no idea what I was doing. I wanted to share who I was at that moment in time, my thoughts, my memories of childhood, and so I laid awake in bed, creating my first hub!
I loved being able to share my writing with not only fellow hubbers, but also friends and family. Days passed, then weeks, and now I have more visits from Google than anywhere else. It has been and will continue to be an honor to have anyone, anywhere, read my writings. The fact that someone is taking the time out of their day to read what I wrote... it truly leaves me speechless. I see it as an honor.
So I promise other writers, other hubbers, out there, that I will try my hardest to read as many other pieces of work as possible. I believe in karma. What goes around comes around. Hopefully soon, I'll be coming around!
What Was My Challenge?
I read about the 30 Hubs in 30 Days Challenge, and I loved this idea. I love challenges, love games... I like to win. I quickly published 30 hubs, but had so many more ideas for what to write. So I created the 100 Hubs in 50 Days Challenge for myself!
Yup.
This was created just for me. I love setting goals, reaching them, and then being able to sit back, and be proud of my work. I've worked hard to reach my goal, and am happy to say I accomplished it BEFORE 50 days! (Not in that 30 though!) I'm proud because I stand by what I wrote, I care about what I wrote, (such as my poems), and I want to let my ideas be out there for anyone to read, (such as life lessons).
Perhaps another goal will be necessary in upcoming months... Hmmm... Now what?
What Have I Learned?
Well, first, I learned you can actually make money on AdSense through HubPages. It completely depends on what you write, the quality of your work, and the demand for it. Clearly, I'm no expert yet, but after seeing it firsthand, plus reading some amazing success stories, I'm confident in saying that it CAN happen.
Next, I've learned that I have a passion for writing. And, actually, I always have. I like sharing my thoughts, my words, with others. Some people might like it, others not so much. But guess what else I learned?
That's okay!
I've grown outside of HubPages, too. When I signed up, I was actually working as a nanny, and had a lot of free time, which is probably why I managed to reach my goal so quickly! Now I'm a Kindergarten teacher. Just began my job this week...
Perhaps hubs on that profession may be surfacing soon...

Favorite Hubs
- My List: 90 Things To Do In My Lifetime
A lot of people make bucket lists for themselves. Well, I don't like the idea of "kicking the bucket," but I do have a list of 90 things I want to do in my lifetime. Here they are. - Must Have Songs for Any iPod
A list of MUST HAVE songs for ANY iPod. Whether you are nine or ninety-nine, you gotta have these songs! Videos included of selected songs. - Poem: Secret Nobody Knows
A poem about keeping just one secret for yourself, and not willing to let it go. It's simple, few words... yet, out of all my poetry, it continues to be one of my favorite poems. - Still Growing Up
Everyone has a childhood to look back upon and remember either fondly or with regrets. I have my fair share of both pleasant memories as well as ones I would rather forget... But without those times, I wouldn't be who I am today. MY FIRST HUB!

Congrats on not only reaching 100 hubs but also on the Kindergarten job. There is part of me which wishes I had more time so that I could try some of these challenges and commit to them fully. Maybe I will have to challenge myself to find the time to do the challenges, lol.
You are awesome and you are an achiever ! Heartiest Congratulations from me. So what is your next goal and challenge ? Life is much more interesting when we have a goal to strive for, isn't it ? Keep up the good work !
Congrats Kristen, I really admire you. And here I am thinking that 30 hubs in 30 days is hard. Congrats again!
Congrats on hitting the 100 hubs in 5 weeks and for getting a new job! Hope to read that you published 200 hubs :).
You are amazing Kristen! I am inspired by you. Young, bright, spirited and energetic. -- You'll need all that for your Kindergarteners!
Blessings,

What an inspiration you are! I'm currently trying to finish the 30 hubs in 30 days, and I'm a little behind - working hard to catch up though :D I'll need another challenge when I've finished. 100 hubs seems like an awful long way away, but I might have to give it a go. I'm the Queen of Making Excuses though - need to hit that on the head!
Well done indeed, on the 100 hubs. Look forward to seeing what your next challenge will be.
You have put in a very impressive effort,i won,t be surprised your hub will reach a 100 score everytime you publish it.well done girl, may all your effort, gains a great returns.
wow very impressive, me It took me quite sometimes before I realized that hubpages is addicting.... I just decided to join the 30 hubs in 30 days challenge and indeed it was a great achievement.... how much more if 100 hubs... you know what else I realized?my hubs that I consider my original or based on my own observation were the ones with high traffic or active traffic
Wow! I was just wandering when I would reach 100 hubs and googled it. I found you! You have inspired me. I won't reach that figure quite as quickly as you but I think I can do it in 50 days! :)
Kristen,
This is a refreshing hub. A nice look at your journey.
Thank you.

Wow--I'm impressed. I think my best was 26 hubs in a month, maybe more. I need to up the ante!
I enjoyed reading your hub. Thanks!
You go gal, set the pace and we will follow!
Go for your goal.... All of us HUBBERS are on your side...
This is really great ..Your Journey is really great
Very inspirational. Congratulations on your success.
Congratulations on setting up your own challenge and writing 100 hubs in less than 50 days. It certainly seems like a more reasonable goal than 100 hubs in 30 days.

Congratulations, you've reached 100 hubs in just 4 weeks and you hubscore is 95. That in itself is truly inspiring, some hubbers publish a lot of hubs but there hubscore is quite low which means they are producing low quality hubs.
Congrats also on your new job, no doubt we'll be reading about your new adventures with the kids!
