Movies to Make You Laugh Out Loud
70Seriously? Who doesn't want to be able to forget about the real world from time to time and just watch a movie and laugh?
I know how I excited I am when I find a true comedy, one that actually makes me laugh out loud uncontrollably. Here is a list of my most recent favorites.
Don't forget to note my favorites from a time long, long ago, too ;)
The List
5. Mean Girls
- Who Makes You Laugh?
Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams
- Why Is It Funny?
Tina Fey (love her) wrote the screenplay for this oh-too-familiar story of the typical high school cliques. Cady Heron recently began high school, after being home schooled her full life while living in Africa with her parents. She is noted as a regulation hottie, and must choose between friends and popularity.
- What Was My Favorite Part?
I love any scene when Gretchen Wieners, one of the popular plastics, is having a total spaz moment over Regina, the queen bee. She is "so fetch."
4. The Hangover
- Who Makes You Laugh?
Zach Galifianakis
- Why Is It Funny?
Two days before Doug is about to get married, he accompanies three friends to Las Vegas, where clearly, these four were never destined to go. Twenty-four hours later, so much has happened, and it is definitely more than the typical hangover.
- What Was My Favorite Part?
Obviously when they find the baby in the closet, and Phil says they don't "have time" to deal with baby, and they'll come back later. Then, Stu reminds him of the tiger in the bathroom.
3. Meet the Parents
- Who Makes You Laugh?
Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro
- Why Is It Funny?
Greg Focker (almost enough said there) wants to meet his girlfriend's parents before proposing to her. But seriously everything that could possibly go wrong does from failing a lie detector test to losing his luggage and even losing his girlfriend's father's beloved cat.
- What Was My Favorite Part?
They all sit down for a family meal, and Greg is forced to explain how growing up on a farm (which he didn't) actually involved the experiencing of milking a cat once.
2. Dinner for Schmucks
- Who Makes You Laugh?
Steve Carrell
- Why Is It Funny?
Tim's work is literally hosting a dinner for schmucks, and the person who brings the biggest one is the winner. Along comes Barry, (played by Steve Carrell), and I think we've got a winner.
- What Was My Favorite Part?
Barry explains at the dinner, "Vincent Van Gogh. Everyone said to him, 'You can't be a painter, you only have one ear.' And you know what he said? 'I can't hear you.'"
1. Step Brothers
- Who Makes You Laugh?
Both Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly
- Why Is It Funny?
Brennan and Dale become forty-year-old stepbrothers when their parents get married, and are forced to live with each other. While at first they hate each other, they soon form an unbreakable bond.
- What Was My Favorite Part?
So hard to choose... I love when they fight with each other, and are trying to come up with these amazing insults. Brennan tells Dale, "You better not go to sleep, because as soon as your eyes shut, I'm gonna punch you square in the face!"

I actually just saw easy A in theaters recently, and I think it was my favorite teen comedy since mean girls. It had the simple story paired with hilarious sarcastic humor from Emma Stone. I would suggest it to anyone! Great hub!
