A New Kitten

Introducing Pixie the Great

After work today, I ventured to a cat cattery about thirty miles away, with my mom and younger brother, Timmy. This past September, our cat of eighteen years, Melody, passed away, and since then, my mom has wanted a new cat.

While I was content at first with just my rabbit and hamster, I must admit this new kitten is perhaps one of the cutest I have ever seen.

She has not stopped purring since we brought her home, and she quite enjoy simply resting on my brother's lap.

Welcome Home

When we first arrived at the cattery, Pixie was the only cat awake at the farm, playing in her little basket in the dining room, while her friends slept under the table.

Timmy sat on the floor, scooped her into his lap, and she played with a toy while he rubbed her little ears.

On the ride home, she snuggled in her carrier, clutching a stuffed orange cat. While my mom slightly panicked as I merged into traffic on the highway, and my brother stressed over each and every bump, I managed the drive home, everyone surviving.

Now, home and secure, Pixie is enjoying all of her new toys. She eagerly ran from one to the next, chasing toys on strings and knocking into toys that roll.

But when the family sat down for pizza, and Pixie was left on the floor to herself, she curled around the bottom of my mom's chair, and fell soundly asleep, purring away.

Fun Times

What's fun for cats?

Most importantly, what's PIXIE like to do for fun?

Catnip seems to get quite the reaction out of her. Pixie, like most cats, loves rolling into, rubbing against, and pushing around anything with catnip inside. The breeder gave us a stuffed pumpkin filled with catnip as a gift, and Pixie likes to stand on her back two feet and pounce upon it.

Her other favorite toy is the blue mouse with a ball on a spring shown in the picture. She likes to hit the ball back and forth, sit on the spring, pretend to forget where it went, and then jump on it again.

What a nice little life!

reminds me of my cat Pippen except my cat is darker and now bigger but he never was that small but I have seen that look of mischief from him-Iwrote a hub on my 2 cats also-

I love my cats - my older cat is shy so when he lets me pet him its special the other one is a siamesse and he is always ready to hog the attention.

great hub TH
