Best Grey's Anatomy Episodes

A television drama created by Shonda Rhimes, Grey's Anatomy first premiered back in 2005 on ABC.

We're now entering the seventh season of this hit show, that has since even spiraled into a spin off, Private Practice, also a popular television drama on ABC.

The show Grey's Anatomy centers around interns, residents and patients at the fictional Seattle Grace Hospital, where like everyone else, they are forced to juggle their professional and personal lives.

Tough choices are made, with often, difficult consequences for those choices.

Moments That Made You Cry From Grey's Anatomy

Season 1, Episode 2

This was the first episode to truly hit a soft spot with me, because it deals with a woman who is left half dead after a brutal attack. Meanwhile, Meredith crosses a line, earning my respect, to save an infant.

Quotable Quote: "So you can waste your life drawing lines, or you can live your life crossing them." Meredith's voiceover.

Make Me Lose Control

Season 2, Episode 3

Emotions are flying all over in this episode. While Meredith's mom is admitted to Seattle Grace, and fellow doctors are now learning of the infamous Dr. Grey's Alzheimer's, Christina loses her baby she was carring, and thought she never wanted.

Memorable Scene: Bailey explaining to Christina that Addison did everything she could, but the baby couldn't be saved.

Into You Like a Train

Season 2, Episode 6

First episode where I bawled like a baby over Grey's Anatomy. Two adults are stuck together by a pole, but by removing the pole, only one can survive. Tragic.

Quotable Quote: "As surgeons, we have to be in the know, but as human beings, sometimes it's better to stay in the dark. because in the dark, there may be fear, but there is also hope." Meredith's voiceover.

Season 2, Episode 27

Saddest part of this episode is when Alex picks up Izzy and carries her away from Denny. She had risked her career and future to try and save the patient she had fallen in love with. Second saddest part is when Meredith and Derek have to let go of Doc, their dog. Not to mention the next saddest part revolving around the planning of the prom for the Chief's niece. Pretty sure I cried throughout this full episode.

Memorable Scene: Hardest one to choose from this whole list. But for one scene, I'm going to have to go with the heartache on Meredith's face when she and Derek let go of Doc, because you could see her acknowledging the loss of Derek as well.

Season 3, Episode 1

Although there was some humor to this episode with George and Derek being quarantined together, Izzy's breakdown on the floor, still wearing her dress, is what made the list.

Memorable Scene: Izzy stands up.

Some Kind of Miracle

Season 3, Episode 17

This was the final part of the episodes revolving around Meredith's near drowning incident. The doctors scramble to save her while she communicates with friends lost long ago.

Quotable Quote: "Thank you for not dying." Christina to Meredith.

Didn't We Almost Have It All?

Season 3, Episode 25

The interns receiving their exam results is a minor detail remembered in comparison to Christina coming oh-so-close to marrying Dr. Burke. I love how Meredith was truly there for her person. Also upsetting is when: A. Alex is left behind by Rebecca. Poor kid can't catch a break! B. The Chief's wife, Adele, loses her baby.

Memorable Scene: Christina breaking out of the choker that was given to her from Burke's mom.

Season 5, Episode 12

Izzy had been haunted by the ghost of Denny in episodes past, but now finally understands why. Meanwhile, the patient on death row tries committing suicide in Seattle Grace, but Derek won't let that happen.

Quotable Quote: "I loved you so much. I loved you so much that when I got to come back for you, I thought... you were my heaven. But maybe..." Denny to Izzy.

Now or Never

Season 5, Episode 23

Izzy struggles to remember... everything, and Alex is left trying his hardest to help her. A John Doe is admitted to the hospital after being hit by a pus, and is barely able to hang on.

Memorable Scene: When Meredith realizes John Doe is George by him drawing 007 on her hand, and screams to tell the other doctors.

Season 6, Episode 24

Seriously, out of my least favorite seasons, this is potentially the best episode EVER on Grey's Anatomy. A man with a gun is shooting any doctor who comes in his path between himself and Derek, and Meredith and Christina have never needed to be doctors more. Dr. Bailey scrambles to save a young doctor's life, with only a patient to help her in the process.
