American Idol: Top 24

The night before, viewers learned five contestants who would move on in the American Idol competition.  It's never easy when a fan favorite is asked to leave, but so far it seems the judges are making decent choices with who should stay.

And remember, unlike last year, all three judges are involved intensely with the music business.  In other words, they know what they're talking about.  If Steven Tyler is praising someone for singing, "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing," then most likely, that person is a talented singer!

Idol hopefuls so far include:

• Haley Reinhart
• Paul McDonald
• Ashthon Jones

Tonight's American Idol said farewell to some former favorites such as John Wayne Schulz and Jessica Cunningham, and showcased the next nineteen contestants to make it to the top twenty-four.

We again saw each perform make their way down the long hall up to that lonely chair across from Steven, Jennifer and Randy.

These performers will go on to sing live auditions and leave their fates up to us viewers at home.  Keep an eye out for who feels comfortable and could potentially become a remarkable recording artist.

Or, and perhaps better yet, close your eyes when contestants sing, don't be distracted by others decisions and see, truly, who is and who is not a talented singer.

Boys will sing Tuesday, March 1st.

Girls will perform on Wednesday, March 2nd.
